A product of the cross-border metropolis that is San Diego, California and Tijuana, Mexico, Lhabia?s influences range from the experimental efforts of 1960s Pink Floyd through the 1980s (Joy Division, The Cure), to contemporaries like Mogwai and Godspeed You Black Emperor. There?s also a bit of the Mexican traditional sound but it?s filtered through so much that it wouldn?t be fair to categorize the group as a Latin band. The lineup of bass, drums, two guitars, and keyboards is augmented by vocals on some tracks (in both English and Spanish), and piano and violin on other tracks.
